Pewter has been popular throughout Europe for hundreds of years. Originally an alloy of Lead and Tin, it was fashioned into a wide variety of utensils and decorative pieces. It was in such widespread use in England that is was commonly known as "English Tin".
Our range of handmade pewter is sourced exclusively from Italy and is created from a pure alloy comprising 95% Tin mixed with small amounts of Antimony and Copper. The absence of Lead means it is suitable for use in eating and drinking.
All products are faithful recreations of antique pieces, including the wear and tear of everyday use. This gives each item its own individual character and charm. The entire range is available in a "Traditional" finish, giving an antique appearance, or "Polished" similar to a piece of old silver. Most of the items shown here are "Traditional", though the photograph frames are "Polished".
We carry an extensive stock and most items are available immediately for mail order. Non stock items are usually available within 2 weeks.
"Polished" finish is 10% more expensive than "Traditional". All pieces individually boxed. Quantity discounts available.
Post & Packing (mainland UK): £10 on orders under £100, Free on orders above.
Pewter does not rust and has been specially treated with a finish that means it does not require polishing, just the occasional dusting and a dip in mild washing up liquid after use.
